Why Rann of Kutch

A landscape that turns white to gold and back again

Between November and February the seasonal salt marsh of Kutch dries into a hard white plain that runs to the horizon. Around it sits one of India's richest craft belts — mirror-work embroidery, Rogan art, bell metal, lacquer — and a food and music tradition that has barely changed in generations. The 2026–27 season is the time to see it slowly.

FAQ

Everything travellers ask before booking

Still unsure about something? Message us — we answer questions on WhatsApp within working hours.

November to February is the ideal window. The salt desert is fully dry, days are pleasant and nights are cool — carry warm layers for evenings on the Rann.

The festival season typically runs from early winter to around March, spread over roughly 100 days at Dhordo. Exact dates are announced each year, so confirm with us before you lock flights.

Bhuj is the gateway. It has an airport with flights from Mumbai and Ahmedabad, and is well connected by train and road. Dhordo and the White Rann are about 80 km from Bhuj by road.

Three nights cover the White Rann, Dhordo and Bhuj comfortably. Four to six nights let you add craft villages, Kala Dungar, Mandvi or Dholavira without rushing.

Packages start from ₹11,999 per person. Final cost depends on hotel category, travel dates, group size and inclusions — we share a written quote for your exact plan.

Yes. Distances are manageable, tent stays are comfortable, and the cultural evenings work well for children and elders alike. We can slow the pace for senior travellers.

Very much so. Full-moon nights on the white desert, private candlelit dinners and quieter luxury tents make it a strong choice for honeymoons and anniversaries.

Yes — most of our bookings are customised. Tell us your dates, budget range and what you want to see, and we build the itinerary around it.

Options range from standard and deluxe tents at Dhordo to premium AC tents, resorts near the Rann and heritage or business hotels in Bhuj. We recommend based on your budget and availability.

Accommodation, the meal plan mentioned in your quote, transfers and sightseeing by private vehicle, driver charges, and assistance throughout the trip.

Flights and train tickets, personal expenses, entry tickets and permits unless specified, camera fees, and anything not listed in your written inclusions.

Yes. All our trips are private by default — your own vehicle, your own schedule. We do not club unrelated travellers together.

Small changes are usually possible subject to hotel and vehicle availability. Let us know as early as you can and we will rework the plan.

Yes, private AC vehicle with driver is included in all our standard packages, covering airport or station transfers and all listed sightseeing.

Yes — Bhuj airport, railway station and bus stand pickups and drops are included. Pickups from Ahmedabad or other cities can be arranged at extra cost.

Warm layers for the evenings, comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, a hat, any personal medication, and a valid photo ID for permits.

A permit is required to enter the Rann area near Dhordo. It is straightforward and we handle or guide you through it — carry an original photo ID.

Strongly. Peak weekends, full-moon dates and the December–January window sell out early, especially for premium tents.

Send us your dates and traveller count on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form. We share an itinerary and quote, and confirm on advance payment.

Yes — that is the fastest way. Message us your travel dates, number of travellers and preferred stay category, and we will reply with options.

Tell us as soon as you know. We rebook wherever hotels and transport allow; any supplier cancellation terms that apply will be shared with you transparently.
